Company - SKET GmbH - Spezialist für Dimension und Präzision im Maschinen- und Anlagenbau

SKET. Intelligent solutions for the mechanical engineering industry.

SKET GmbH is a modern industrial service provider which has, since 1997, played a successful part in the 160-year-long tradition of mechanical engineering for which Magdeburg has received global recognition.
With our motto WIR MACHEN DAS (‘Leave it to us’), we offer tailored solutions for mechanical and plant engineering in general, as well as for the construction of specialised plant. Along with industrial assembly, the high-precision machining of heavy cast and steel construction components weighing up to 300 t is just one of our specialist areas.

Scope of services

Flexible, customer-driven manufacture

With our more than forty CNC machining centres, there is barely another company in Germany which can boast as much manufacturing capacity as we have. We machine and assemble components to our customers’ specifications and handle job-order and contract manufacture for industries which include rolling mill construction, press manufacture and mill construction.

But that’s not all: our services also include project planning, design, material procurement and transport and logistics. That is what makes us an ideal systems partner for complex projects and high-performance technical products, for which we offer trouble-free, efficient and reliable solutions.

Dirk Pollak, CEO of SKET GmbH: »I want to work in a company where people are treated as equals.«

Our workforce

The backbone of our company

Even the most state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and the digitalisation of processes are no substitute for the knowledge and skills of SKET’s workforce of more than 250 employees. They are the beating heart of our corporate culture. And it is only with their craftsmanship and technical know-how that we are able to meet the individual requirements of our customers and achieve perfect results.

In order to be able to meet our considerable demand for well-trained skilled workers, we invest a great deal in training the next generation of SKET employees. Our training centre is one of the most modern in the entire region. Many young men and women embark on their professional careers here every year, receiving the best possible technical training from our excellent teaching staff.

Quality and sustainability

As a manufacturing service provider, it goes without saying that we are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001. We consistently align our quality benchmarks with the individual requirements of our customers. In order to comply with the most precise dimensional tolerances and achieve the best possible results, quality assurance at SKET starts from the moment our manufacturing teams begin their precision work.

Throughout our production processes, the need to meet climate concerns and protect the world’s resources as far as possible are high priorities for us. That is why, for instance, we are constantly optimising our electricity use as part of our certified energy management system, and why we illuminate our workshops with energy-saving LED lights. We recycle more than 90 percent of all production-related waste, and aim to ensure that our materials and technologies are as environmentally friendly as possible. Our power and heat are sourced from the wind power plant at SKET industrial park and from an energy-efficient cogeneration plant.
